Last night I got home from work to no power in our apartment. I’d already had a mishap with the electrical work in our 150 year old house when my hairdryer had a disagreement with the lower tenant’s window air condition on a particularly warm morning. I couldn’t figure out the issue at the time, so needless to say I went to work with wet hair and an extreme fear that I was going to come home to a dead cat that day. All turned out okay in the end, but yesterday I realized that the whole house was without power. After checking all the breakers this time, I called my landlord to find out that she had some trees in our backyard trimmed and the power was turned off since earlier that morning. To make a long story short, they didn’t come back out to turn the power back on until 9:30 last night, and I didn’t get anything done — blogging or otherwise. Luckily I had some pins already pulled into photoshop, so I’m ready to go this morning. Yesterday’s fan-less, air conditioner-less tepid — to put it a nice way — evening only reinforced the theme that I was already going for: it’s dang hot out! And it’s lovely and beautiful and sticky and fresh. Wisconsin summer is really my favorite thing, and I’m savoring every minute of it — even the annoying parts! Hope you’re having a great one!
